Rita Ford Music Boxes was established in New York City in 1947. Mrs. Ford began with a store selling a variety of period antiques, but her enchantment with antique music boxes led her to specialize exclusively in both contemporary and antique music boxes. Mrs. Ford's passion for music boxes is carried on in a family owned and operated business. Gerald Wright began his association with Rita Ford in 1983. As a conservatory trained musician, Gerry was fascinated by and had a natural understanding of these wonderful musical machines. He quickly learned the specialized art of antique music box restoration. Today, Gerry is considered one of the finest restorers of antique music boxes in the country.
Rita Ford Music Boxes was the first, and remains the only store in the United States to service, repair and sell both antique and contemporary music boxes.
Rita Ford Music Boxes has closed our NYC store location of 60 years and are currently running our business from this web-site until another suitable location can be found.
