Bremond 152 Tooth Antique Music Box

$6,750.00

This Antique Music Box was made circa 1860s in Geneva, Switzerland by the firm B.A. Bremond. This transitional Box has all the features of the earlier type just after the transition from Key wound to Lever wound Music Boxes.

The very finely cut comb has 152 teeth. This is the most number of teeth I have seen on a 101/2" cylinder. The 4 Aires are listed on the tune card. Another feature of earlier 19th century music boxes is that they play lesser number of songs , with much more intricate arrangements. This is of the finest quality tone wise as well as the arrangements. The case and Lid have matching tulipwood/satinwood Inlay border. The Lid has a most unusuallly beautiful Sunburst and Floral Inlay accented by Enamels of at 6 different colors. This piece has been expertly restored and will bring generations of enjoyment to it's next owner.

Measurements 19" x 81/2" x 51/2"
