Nicole Freres Fat Cylinder Music Box

This "Fat Cylinder" box features the 2 per turn type arrangement enabling it to play 12 Airs with superior arrangements. It dates from circa 1860/70 and is made in Geneva, Switzerland. It is stamped with the makers mark on the Baseplate and Comb as is typical of all Nicole Freres Music Boxes. It features the earlier style case with an unusual Inlay and marquetry of a "Garden scene with Mother and Daughter". The transitional style "Dragon's Breath" interior and winding mechanosm are also present. The Baseplate is solid Brass and the Beautifully intricate arrangements are accomplished with 128 teeth.
